Unmasking Workshop

At the Unmasking workshop last week, we explored 6 qualities of stimming: swaying, clicking, rocking, smacking, swinging, and jiggling. 

Can you think of more? What is your favorite way to stim?

At the workshop, we gathered, we breathed, we listened, we stimmed.

I read exerpts of “Unmasking Autism” by Devon Price and “Undrowned: Black Feminist Lessons from MArine Mammals” by Alexis Pauline Gumbs.

People found props like balls and mats to be helpful, and commented on the liberating feeling of being in a room full of other people stimming freely.
